Dear players,

Please find below important and useful information related to the event.

Airport

Once you collect your luggage in Almaty airport, please approach the volunteers at the FIDE World R&B Championships information desk – they will accompany you to your vehicle. The information desk is located right by the exit door in the international terminal, in the domestic flights terminal – on the left side from the exit. Please note, that transfers will be provided only for those participants who stay in the official hotels.

Accreditation

IMPORTANT! Only accredited players will be included in the first-round pairings.

Accreditation desks will be available:

• For players staying at the official hotels – at the respective hotels any time until 26^th December 9 am.

• For others players – at the playing venue right after the Technical Meeting or at Hilton hotel from 7 to 9 am on 26^th December

Meals

Meals will be served in the official hotel according to this schedule:

Breakfast: DoubleTree 6:30 – 10:30, Holiday Inn 07:00 – 10:00 (on weekends till 11:00), Rixos 6:30 – 10:30 (on weekends till 11:00)

Lunch: 12:30 – 14:30 (except 30 December: 12:00 – 13:30) – all hotels

Dinner: 19:00 – 22:00 (except 25 December: 18:00 – 21:00) – all hotels

Besides, coffee break will be available for all players in the venue refreshment area, which is designated only for players.

Opening ceremony & Technical meeting

The opening ceremony will take place in the playing venue, Baluan Sholak Palace of culture and sports, on the 25^th of December at 19:30. Transfers to the event will leave from all three official hotels between 18:30 and 18:45. The ceremonial part will be followed by the Technical meeting chaired by the Chief Arbiter at 20:30.

Transfers

There will be official transfers provided for those who paid a transportation fee. You will be able to check transfers schedule at the information desks in each official hotel.

Those participants who prefer to travel to the venue independently may order a taxi. The best option is to download Uber KZ or Yandex Go applications and to select Baluan Sholak Palace of culture and sports (Abai Ave 44) as destination point. After getting out of taxi you will need to walk to the Players entrance as shown on the plans below (depending on where the taxi stopped):
